Chimi a Little History!
Chimichurri originated in Argentina and great with grilled meats in many Latin American countries.
According to Wikipedia
The name comes from Jimmy McCurry an Irishman who is said to have made the sauce first. He was marching with the troops of Jasson Ospina in the 19th century and sympathetic to the Argentine independence. The sauce was popular and the recipe was passed on. However Jimmy McCurry was difficult for the native people to pronounce. Some say Jimmy's sauce was currupted to "chimichrri", while others say it was named in his honor.
Other stories include Jimmy Curry an English meat importer, a Scot, James Hurry traveling with gauchos, and an English family in Patagonia over heard a group of Argentinians with them saying "give me the curry". All stories share an English speaking colonist and the corruption of names or words by the local population.
